During most of 2005 and part of 2006, I traveled in Asia with my boyfriend, Benjamin. In 13 months, we traversed 8 countries: India, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Burma, and Indonesia.

On this trip, I became a traveler (quite different from a tourist) — it defines who I am today. I discovered a new way of thinking about life. On return home, I wrote on my travelogue: It’s a way of thinking that opens doors — nothing is impossible, everything is within reach if you want it to be; there’s no such thing as a good or bad decision; there’s nothing wrong with feeling lost; there’s no way to make mistakes; there’s nothing to hold you back…It’s the power of two little words and a simple cliche, Why not?

On this trip, I maintained a good ole fashioned web site…a travelogue chock full of tips for planning extended travel: documenting all the fears, logistics, and loose ends to tie up before leaving the country for a year. There are also tons of photo albums, maps, hotel reviews, and blog entries while on the road.
